THE TRUTH ABOUT CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: CASE STUDY Introduction Corporate social responsibility has been one of the strategies that has been adopted by various corporations across the global business arena. The concept of corporate social responsibility came about because of the increased pressure of the businesses to have concern and discipline over the organizational stakeholders. Many businesses have successfully achieved their goals by embracing these practices and have influenced many customers to do business with them. The article further has noted that these strategies have helped many companies such as IKEA, PNC Bank, and Ambuja Cements to ensure discipline and coherence concerning corporate social responsibility. Summary The Truth about CSR, as written by Harvard University’s Lisa Chase, Sohel Karim, and Kasturi Rangan, noted that corporate social responsibility is much of business discipline and not emphasizing more on developing the business value and purpose. According to the article, the company activities are divided into three theaters, and each is focused on addressing a certain resolution. The authors have given four steps focused on enhancing successful theaters of corporate social responsibility and further suggest that corporate social responsibility should be a spill over to various stakeholders.
